The municipality of Montuïri will be celebrating the festivity of its patron saint, Saint Bartholomew, in style, the same on August 24th. The celebrations connect with those held on August 15th, for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
There is no doubt that the most significant event during these summer festivities will be the performance offered by the Cossiers, with their very singular typical dance.
The group is made up by six men and The Lady, accompanied by The Fabioler (typical musician) and The Dimoni (The Devil). The striking and unusual costume of the Cossiers is worthy of attention, having maintained themselves loyal to this popular ancient tradition.
